Alumi Spotlight - Twyla Masterson, Tarrant County '20

Twyla Masterson is an alumna of the Tarrant County Leadership ISD Civic Voices class of 2020. As the founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Jonathan Andrew Youth Enrichment Foundation, Twyla focuses on social-emotional learning, leadership development, and teaching advocacy to children and their parents. According to Twyla, completing the Leadership ISD Fellowship has exposed her to a collective collaboration of change-agents that has strengthened her to continue the work that she does, and even look for other venues to do more work. In Twyla’s case, participating in the Civic Voices Fellowship uncovered a different set of issues that she had not been previously aware of. As a result, she was inspired to share her new-found knowledge, and expand her business into teaching advocacy to children and parents of color. For Twyla, Leadership ISD has served as her personal foundation for growth, and has allowed her to positively impact students from all walks of life.
