John Kennelly, Board Treasurer

Retired Vice President, Toyota

John Kennelly is a former grouper vice president of Toyota Motor North America, where he was responsible for leading the business process and systems integration efforts associated with the One Toyota efforts to integrate Toyota’s legacy sales, manufacturing, and engineering organizations. This responsibility included the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Application across Toyota’s North American Operations.

Prior to that role, Kennelly served as Toyota Motor Sales, Inc.’s corporate controller with responsibility for automotive and general accounting, financial reporting, field controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as well as accounting services. Additionally, he had executive oversight responsibility for all corporate, federal, state, and local income and non-income tax matters. Finally, this position included responsibility for all U.S. customs and export controls matters.

Kennelly joined Toyota in 2004 as corporate tax manager after holding senior tax management positions at General Motors Corporation and a five-year career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Detroit.

Kennelly earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and a Law Degree from Wayne State Law School in Detroit, Michigan. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Michigan State Bar.
