Alumni Spotlight: Tiffany Rogers, Class of 2020

Tiffany Rogers serves on the board of directors for Texas PTA, a parent-teacher association with the mission to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Recently, Tiffany received the "Lead like Marni" Award from Texas PTA. This award is given to leaders who are passionate about the PTA mission, welcoming and encouraging to all, and always ready to face a challenge head-on with grit, resilience, and humor.

“I want to help children know that they are valuable and to help them achieve more than they could ever dream, and I feel so fortunate to get to do the work I do,” said Tiffany.

For the past 17 years, Tiffany has brought her strong leadership skills to various parent-teacher associations and is passionate about public education and making it better every day.

As secretary for the Texas PTA, Tiffany works with leaders to help equip them to serve their particular communities. “We need diverse voices and leaders,” she added. “My focus is recognizing and developing those that have the passion for bettering our education system to meet the needs of ALL students. Education is for everyone, and is not one size fits all.”

Of her experience in Leadership ISD’s Civic Voices Fellowship, Tiffany said: “The relationships I formed were invaluable, I met so many people with a passion for public education, from so many different professions and walks of life.” One of her key takeaways from the fellowship was “putting myself in proximity with others that have had a different experience than I have and leaning into hearing others with a goal to move forward and make the system better.”

When Tiffany is not volunteering, she loves to spend time with her family, craft, and take care of her plants.
