The son of a migrant farm-worker and an Air Force veteran, Dr. Rey Guerra is currently a Senior Proposal Development Engineer at Dresser-Rand, where he designs energy solutions for liquefied natural gas (LNG) applications. Dr. Guerra holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (Mechanical Engineering). Dr. Guerra follows his passion for social and civic engagement through education, training, and advocacy, serves on various civic engagement boards throughout Houston, and has been a guest commentator discussing recent immigration, redistricting, energy, and current events on various media outlets broadcast locally and throughout the world.
