Mr. Mulry’s interest in improving education with DISD began when he volunteered with the De Golyer’s Dad’s Club and being a charter member and subsequent president of the W. T. White Booster Club. In 2012, Mr. Mulry was appointed to represent DISD District One in the Attendance Boundary Committee and served on that committee until 2014 when he resigned to focus his volunteer energies on the Home Rule Initiative with Support Our Public Schools. Since then he has recently been appointed District One 2015 Bond Review Committee.
After graduating from Austin College in 1977, Mr. Mulry enjoyed a successful career in technical theater for 20+ years mostly in the Dallas area. He enjoyed notable leadership positions at The Majestic Theater and The State Fair Music Hall, Dallas Opera, Dallas Ballet and IATSE Local #127.
In 1994, Mr. Mulry decided to change careers. He went back to school and graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy in 1999.
Mr. Mulry is a physical therapist with 17 years experience with most of that time in the home health setting with predominantly geriatric patients. He is currently employed at Kindred Transitional Care/Rehabilitation facility in Grapevine, TX.
