Kathy Hubbard is the Director of the Hart Center for Engineering Leadership at Southern Methodist University’s Lyle School of Engineering. Kathy leads the school’s effort to develop the 21st Century Engineer. In this role, she develops curriculum and programs to improve students’ communication skills, problem solving capabilities and innovativeness. Kathy works with engineering faculty to integrate leadership content into project based engineering courses and she facilitates work opportunities and mentoring relationships for the school’s 1500 engineering and computer science majors. She is a certified executive coach and has worked with executives and managers from DART, Texas Instruments and other organizations. Kathy has also worked with the Center for Creative Leadership to develop youth and early career leadership development programs. Kathy serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for St. Philip’s School & Community Center in South Dallas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Masters in Education Leadership & Policy from the Simmons School of Education at SMU. Kathy is married to Michael Hubbard and is mother of two wonderful sons, Michael and Elijah.
