JJ Ponce is a compliance advisory officer for Texas Capital Bank. He was born and raised in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas and has been involved in many volunteer and nonprofit initiatives in the community. Most recently, JJ has served as a mentor at Adamson High School through the Young Leaders of Tomorrow program and taught Dallas ISD elementary school students entrepreneurship and financial literacy principles through Junior Achievement Dallas. JJ received his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and his law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. He is currently the Executive Board Vice President of the Institute for Restorative Communities, a Dallas based educational non-profit. JJ recently joined the board of Avance Dallas, whose mission is to unlock America’s potential by strengthening families in at-risk communities through effective parent education and support programs.
