Christopher Morcos, 8, learned he was the 80,000th student in Katy ISD. A ceremony took place early Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Davidson Elementary School.
“We’re what is called a ‘fast growth school district’ but we weren’t expecting 80,000 kids until late in the Spring time. Here we are hitting it just before the winter Christmas break,” Hindt said.
The enrollment milestone came amid Katy ISD’s commemoration of the district’s 100th anniversary.
