How would an appointed board of managers affect elections?

Currently, there has not been any action to replace the Houston ISD elected board with an appointed board of managers. The November 5, 2019 elections will take place regardless of whether the elected board or an appointed board of managers is leading the district. The upcoming election remains critical even if an appointed board is installed. The school board candidates elected this cycle could be chosen to serve on an appointed board and/or may be the first to regain a seat when an elected board would be reinstalled.
