2023 North Texas Juneteenth Events

On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Texas were told they were free, nearly two and a half years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. This year marks the third anniversary since President Biden signed legislation that made June 19 a federal holiday. For more information on the history of Juneteenth, check out this article from the New York Times.

Following are a few ideas to celebrate Juneteenth this year in North Texas! For event more ideas, check out Visit Dallas and Visit Fort Worth.
