Trisha moved to Houston from upstate New York in 2006 to join Teach for America where she started her career as an elementary school teacher in Houston ISD. In 2009, she transitioned out of the classroom to join the districtÛªs Human Capital Talent Acquisition team. During this time, she served as the head of teacher selection, responsible for creating and implementing the districtÛªs first centralized teacher selection model in an effort to increase teacher quality across Houston Independent School District. nnIn 2012, Trisha joined YES Prep Public Schools as the head of Communications and Marketing. In this role, she led the districtÛªs communication and marketing strategy by building relationships with local and national media outlets, managing crisis communication and driving campaigns focused on recruiting prospective teachers, students, and donors to the organization.nnIn 2015, Trisha joined EMERGE as Executive Director. EMERGE is a non-profit organization that is laser focused on increasing the number of high achieving, low income students in Houston who apply to, attend and graduate from the nationÛªs top colleges and universities. Under her leadership, EMERGE has grown to serve 900 students across Houston ISD and Spring Branch ISD as well as 340 college students attending schools like: Yale, Brown, Harvard, Rice, Duke and 85 other selective colleges across the nation. Over the next five years, EMERGE hopes to expand our program to serve more Houston school districts across the city.n nTrisha holds a B.A .in Advertising Management from Syracuse University and an M.B.A. from Rice University.
