Leadership ISD’s main mission is to recruit, inform, and empower business and community leaders to positively influence the direction and outcomes of public education and actively support educational excellence and equity for all students.
There is a critical opportunity gap in education. There is simply no way around it, students from historically disadvantaged families have a much lower opportunity to learn compared to economically advantaged students. In North Texas only 1 in 3 fourth graders is reading on track for college and only 13 percent of students are ready to succeed in college or career. We cannot expect educators to close these gaps alone, our entire community must come together to help. By creating informed leadership capacity, Leadership ISD provides conduits for change through better public education advocacy, a deeper understanding of how policy impacts equity and excellence, a pipeline of trained leaders for governance, and informed partners for schools.
